About Bun Ceramics

Bun Ceramics is a small ceramics studio based in Brighton, founded by Hannah, a New Zealander who started making pottery after the birth of her son.

Every piece is handmade and hand painted using a combination of slab building, coiling and wheel throwing techniques. Hannah creates the kinds of objects she wants to see in her own home: practical, colourful pieces that make everyday life feel a little more considered.

Her designs often start with a simple question: why are the things we use every day so ugly? Tampon boxes, tissue boxes and other household essentials are often designed to be hidden away. Bun Ceramics creates thoughtful alternatives that deserve a place out in the open.

Hannah lives in Brighton with her husband Patrick and their son Hector, where she makes each limited-run collection by hand.
